Liam O'NeillLiam O'Neill was born in Corca Dhuibhne in the West of Kerry where the rugged landscape of the peninsula sparked his imagination with the urge to paint. His obsession with the West Coast has been his main source of motivation and inspiration over the years. His paintings recapture images of harbours; rural landscapes, fishermen, the Tralee races and men at work with animated strokes of bright colour, which are spontaneously applied in a loose expressionistic manner; emphasising the passionate freedom of the artist's style.After years of experimentation with technique, Liam prefers to work directly onto the canvas with a palette knife and thickly applied oil paint.One of Irelands most successful and sought after living painters Liam O'Neill currently lives and works in Co.
